I'm smart because of my voice.

I left a meeting which was monopolized by a person who seems pretty capable but the most fascinating thing to me is that I believe everyone is mesmerized by his voice. When he speaks it sounds like something between a bear growling and an 18 wheeler climbing a hill. What is funny to me is that if you talk to him OUTSIDE of a meeting he speaks fairly normally but during the meeting you get the DEEP voice.

All the administrators are swooning over him because of this voice and I think a few managers are also.

I wonder if their is a special course on how to talk deep during a meeting?

I use the same type of vocal manipulation when submitting a presentation to our team. I grabs the attention of the listeners. Don't knock it, it works.
