It's amazing to me how people can complain about being bothered to do even the most mundane of things but yet have no issue whatsoever going over someone else's work with a fine tooth comb. I relate this to mopping the floor in my house. I'm doing it, be happy I'm doing it. I'm not half-heartedly doing it, I'm doing what I perceive to be a good job and giving it my best effort. Don't follow me around with a white glove, other wise do it yourself. I have a co worker who is much the same way. A problem will come in, I'll fix it then get told how I SHOULD have fixed it and how the probably still wasn't fixed. Bear in mind this is AFTER the problem has been closed. "Well, I interpreted the last line in the email to mean this, so do X, Y, Z, A, and then call this person, this person, the president of Guam and then it'll be closed." HUH? But yet turn around and complain you have to do X, Y, Z...etc. And state for all to hear how you're not going to do it... I tell ya, things that make you go hmmmm...

At least YOU get feedback! Before being fired from my last job, my HR manager pointed out to me that she had to fight to keep me around, and that I always made mistakes. This was news to me, since I had just been given a raise at my last review from the partners for "doing such a good job". HUH???

I agree with you on that White Glove theory! Really - if you want it done 'just so' - do it yourself! If someone gets from A to Z - who cares how they got there...as long as all the letters are accounted for, right?
