Eating lunch at my desk

So, I'm sitting in my cube (with 1/2 walls) today eating lunch. I had a tofu croquette and 4 vege-sushi rolls. Not the average McDonalds lunch that some may be use to seeing, but this is the 21 century - right? So anyway, I'm eating and this guy comes over and loudly announces "gross what are you eating, I don't think I want any of that"... so I replied with a quick look away from my computer screen "I didn't offer you any did I." and I went back to typing. What ever happen to the old saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". I think he felt stupid after that though, because then he tried to chat small talk...

Nosey people annoy me. I have tons of them at work. My cube neighbor is one of the worst. She will listen in and comment on every conversation. If you are gone for lunch, she has to know where. If anyone even walks by her cube she has to turn her head EVERY time and look at whom ever it is. She cannot resist it. I often walk past her cube over and over again just to watch her head swing back and forth. If I'm reading a trade magazine or tech book (you know, actually learning something) she always has to say something out loud as she walks by... like "must be nice to just sit and read all day". Meanwhile she hasn't learned a new skill in 5 years since she is so caught up in just working herself to death maintaining old systems. I think I am starting to feel sorry for her as I type this.

I know all about the average McDonald's lunch...but you want to talk about getting some dirty looks...I came in with a bag from Wendy's the other day and boy did I get stares. So what do I do? Come in the next day with the KING! Stare at my lunch will you?

One of my favorite things to do to gross out the co-workers is to eat sashimi and seaweed salad at my desk while everyone walks by. I get all kinds of "eewwww, grossss!" comments, and for some reason I just love it! Mwah-hahahahahaha! Next time I ought show up with some really unusuall foreign food and tell them I'm eating locusts and maggots, so they'll stop staring...and maybe they'll donate their lunches to the HaveADamnNiceDay mealtime foundation, since their appetites are gone ^_^.

I love it! i'm one of the few who can stomach the taste of sardines or lox. I would make a bagel, watercress, lox and cream cheese sandwich and have lunch with the rest of the crew. I'd whip out the ole' bagel and watch to see who'd cover their mouth to keep from horking.
