We are stuck with one of those employees who only works a job until she can collect unemployment, or disability, whichever comes first. Princess is her nickname; because she doesn't want to do anything that's not GOOD enough for her to be doing. So all the boring, routine, dirty or disagreeable tasks that she can push off onto the gullible men (who think she's cute) get pushed off, or simply not done.
She's been late to work 24 times since she started less than a year ago, as getting out of bed and getting to work on time is something only the peasants do. Princess doesn't do that.
Now, she'd be out on disability already, but for her own stupidity. She's made three accident reports...one for 'hurting her back while reaching for the half-n-half in the office refridgerator'. But she can't go to the clinic doctor because she's a druggie, and they'd test her for drugs, so she's not been able yet to get on disability so far.
So...she's just trying to be fired. She seems aware that it would be a bad idea to lose her job, but is completely irresponsible and unable to make any changes. It's been too easy for her to work for a while, then go back on public assistance (and she knows ALL the places to go to get free healthcare, free food, bills paid, etc.) Meanwhile we are the ones getting the shaft...I have to go in early today (Saturday) and redo the work she did last week, or my own work will suffer, since it depends on the accuracy of her work.
Add to that she's very annoying, and whines constantly about her life, her husband, her children, and so on, all day long. I swear the woman has never had a "good" day in her life.
So...what can I do to speed up the process for her ?

Ah...it gets better. She didn't get any help from us today or yesterday, since her work the past two days was a 'test', which each and every tech has to take to see if we're doing our experiments the right way. So, when her results came back ALL WRONG, she decided to rat us out on the Uno Championship held yesterday afternoon when the Boss was out. Now, all of our work was done, and we had free time at the end of the day. Hers wasn't, and that was entirely HER fault. So she has to tell the Boss that we were playing card games yesterday to try to deflect the Boss's anger towards us, and thereby make herself even more hated. So, next time I find out she's in the ladies locker room sleeping, or on her cell phone, I'm going to rat her out bigtime.

The temptation to start playing practical jokes and sabotage her would be just too great! Maybe it's time to start putting salt in her soda when she's not looking, or leave dead rats under her desk or something. Although, quite frankly, you guys should probably watch yourselves and stay beyond reproach so there is nothing she can do to get you in trouble. Then, just let her work speak for her! If the bosses are at all competent, they'll eventually can her, and you'll all be rid of her! Just watch out they don't hire someone exactly the same. If they do, get outta there!

I'm with some of the others in that just do your job and keep your distance from her. Tho, if what she does is affecting your job, you might consider either talking to your boss or HR to get some guidance. Hang in there - she will get hers!

Yep, we -used to- have Uno tournaments...after work was done, and if the Boss was away. Now we have Princess being a rat, so no more games. An update on Princess.... She set fire to the toaster oven, yes, actual flames. Laughing about it, she used her ratty old sweatjacket to waft the fumes of burning chicken all over the tiny little poorly-ventilated lunchroom... And her words were, "Oh, this happens to me all the time at home !" It's either proof positive in the Almighty (for God is said to look after fools) or Charles Darwin is spinning in his grave, because the unfit are surviving. We are hoping she gets fired soon...the boss seems unable to deal with her, so he ignores her, and human resources is next to useless. We're stuck until she gets herself fired.

How about this: the next time she tries to pawn her work off to others, you all just say no! As for you coming in to re-do her work on off hours - WHY on earth would you do that? Why don't you just walk into your superviosrs office and calmly explain that the lazy ass beotch is incompetent, then show the proof. Refuse to pamper her and it's only a matter of time until she blows a gasket in front of everyone. Then you can watch as she is escorted out of the building...
