So just because we don't get snow down here in Arizona, doesn't mean we shouldn't get Christmas. The proposed 'employee' Christmas outing this year, is pizza in the conference room. This gets better...they have already divided the price by 30 people - which means we are all paying for it! Why bother? I spend enough time with these people, now they are forcing me to share lunch too? Uhh.

If this is at the familiar place where fulltime means a 9 hour shift or more you do not have much of a choice. Chip in as little as you can get away with if you dare, then plead major illness before the party starts. Either way you will lose some money but not your valuable family time. I had to call in sick in the morning because once there the manager would not let me leave./ If you feel adventurous add up how much everybody contributes and the actual cost of the party food. The $amounts might surprise you. / And there is nothing that can be done about it.
