Annoying Interns

This week my Yankee co-workers are in town (I say that lovingly as I really do like them) and this time they brought their intern with him.

This is one seriously immature kid! He is 20 years old and like Steve Martin said in "Planes Trains And Automobiles" he has his own pull cord that you yank on to talk and HE is yanking on it to hear himself. This kid NEVER shuts up! He is sitting in a cubicle next to me RIGHT NOW and is just yammering away to no-one in particular! We went out to lunch and my boss was talking to me and he sat next to me yammering away in my OTHER ear, my boss noticed this and later wondered if we should cut him loose. The kids only saving grace is he is talented.

Yesterday, we are at break and the kid tells me "So do you guys like decorate pine trees for Xmas or what?". I politely (yes politely) informed him that just because we are Southerners...we are not backwards or stupid.

I am thinking of taking him to the line and stuffing him in a box and shipping him off to parts unknown. So if any of you buy a box of our product...and open it up and find a short fat 20 year old kid...it'll be from me...

HAHAHAHAHAHAA!! I am picturing the dude from the Capital One commercial who David Spade berates for not saying "NO". Oh man, every once in awhile I get a dude like him in my life. Makes me want to wear garlic around my neck! Have you tried it? HA!

Walk the Planks(11/05/2005)
I remember those days, being 21 and feeling like I was on top of the world and that I could take the working world on by storm, that the old-timers didn't have a clue and didn't know what they were talking about, like I was something out-of-the ordinary spectacular. Well, I had a chip on my shoulder, to say the least. Anyway, when I see young 20-somethings now who think they know everything or were the same way that I was, I can't help but say, "They'll learn." I know that they will, like I sure did. I'm glad someone else sees this the same way.
