You can say you cracked a tooth. Say you bit into a piece of hard candy, cracked a tooth and need to get in to see the dentist. Usually you have to see an endodontist and often a root canal is necessary (depending on how deep the crack). Do a search for cracked tooth online and read about the procedure if you know you have nosey coworkers who will ask. You could also mention you're on pain medication after the procedure. That could get you an extra day if you're "still in pain" or the "pain medication isn't sitting well with you".
