Many years ago many commercials were read live by the DJ's on the radio and I have always wondered if the DJ who did the following had any issues with his boss on the day this happened...
In Mpls there is a bank called Twin City Federal now called TCF and their slogan was "Tuck a Buck a Day Away." Everyone knew this slogan, kind of catchy, sometimes stuck in your head for a while like some rhymes do. Except one day during heavy drive time in the morning, not long after Highway 100 opened up, the man doing the live read on the year accidentally substituted an "F" in one of the words in the jingle...and then he tried to correct himself by repeating the jingle correctly.. but his brain was stuck on "F" and the "F" got put into a different word in the jingle.. AND MADE IT WORSE THAN THE FIRST TIME!!!
We heard that people on Highway 100 were actually just driving into the median or ditch on purpose because they were laughing so hard they couldn't see. No accidents fortunately but this is one of my favorite "blunder" stories of all times. Thought I'd share it.

Take it from someone who was a radio program director for 2 decades...stuff like that SHOULD NOT be read live! For more great REAL stories about the wild world of broadcasting, visit www.krud.com!

That reminds me of the cashier at Target that needed a supervisor to abort a sale. She shouted over the speaker that she "needed an abortion on register 3" You could hear the whole store laughing.
