The Paul's Paradise story reminds me...At my office for the annual christmas "pig out day" last year, morale was severely bad so the head guy thought he would help raise spirits and annouced he was ordering pizzas for everybody for lunch and made a big deal about it. Everybody was excited to chow down on pizza. Well lunchtime came and three pizzas were delivered for about 100 people. THREE PIZZAS! (it still amazes me) How insulting! He took the other three into his office for lunch with his cronies. Are you FREAKING kidding me? When morale is that bad and you do something like that you better pray the mob of hungry/angry/degraded/insulted workers aren't waiting outside your door with lit torches and a noose. Or at least you better make sure you are making your own coffee. heh heh heh...

I was thinking the very same thing about the coffee when I got to where you said the same thing. It looked like "Don't just kick them when their down, kill their cat too"! What a jerk boss.
