My company (of about 1500 people) has a large atrium with a group of leather lounge chairs in the center (enough to seat about 30). In that atrium is a sundry shop, a barber shop, a dentist, a dry cleaners, the entrance to a health club and the main doors to the building...lots of things to wait outside for. My company actually sent out an e-mail telling us that employees have been seen sitting in these chairs relaxing or eating their lunches there. (GASP!) The e-mail went on to say that these chairs are strictly for guests to the building and the we (the lowly employees) are not permitted to sit in these chairs at any time because guests to the building might see us and get a poor opinion of the company.
