I worked for one of Warren Buffet's Energy Companies, Kern River Gas Transmission.
Worst job and boss I've ever endured in over thirty years in the corporate workplace.
Boss was a younger (early thirties), attractive lady with more than professional ties to the President, although both were married.
She had the authority to hire another two Safety Engineers, to help shoulder the formidable workload but did not.
Instead, she threw (literally) all of the Safety and EH&S work on my desk from 6:30 AM til often after 7 PM when I could finally leave.
I was doing the work of three people, and she was arriving at the office regularly 2-3 hours late, leaving approximately 2-4 PM.
Frequently, I would receive an assignment for a "due first thing in the morning" task on my desk at 3-4 PM the day before.
I travelled all over the country to review Safety concerns along the multi-state gas pipeline, in addition to doing the work of several engineers.
They have been advertising for my replacement om Monster for months, and no luck so far.
My sincere sympathy for the poor soul who accepts this position.
It was an example of a selection of a Middle Level Manager (my boss)by a Corporate Executive who bases his decisions to hire his managers (like my boss) upon using another part of his anatomy besides his brain.
Horrid company to work for .
