I work at a bank corporate office in New York. We recently had a new director get hired in from PWC (what use to be PWC but is not IBM I guess). Anyway, his first week on the job someone took him around and introduced him to everyone. Seemed like a nice guy. A few weeks later he went around to all the cubes and re-introduced himself to everyone, acting like it was the first time he had met any of us. Weird. Apparently he had a motive, he was trying to find out more about the employees that had cubes by the windows. He wanted to know who they were and why they had window offices. He thought the window spots should only be for managers and the likes. He also wanted to convert a nice corner lounge area with windows and chairs (where we would meet often) into his office so he could have window views. Talk about priorities. This guy is there less than a month and he is spending his time as a window monger? To top it all off, over the span of about 3-4 more weeks he brought in two more "buddies" from his old PWC days and hired them in at management levels. They spend their days walking around laughing and not doing anything of substance that we can tell. Must be nice.
