I'd like to hear from someone who knows what I should do. I'm a cashier at Walmart. Towards the end of my shift I've had to return items that customers don't want to buy. I got a hold of a chemical cleaner and didn't notice it was leaking intil it was all over my vest and soaked throught to my personal dress shirt; which got bleached. I said something to a nearby manager and showed what happened. I got a really crass body english type responce - "Look I got it on me too." That came accrossed like maybe I should suck it up. Shouldn't WalMart be replacing my shirt or giving me what I paid for it?

ducati900ss, Well if you are a manager or a boss, I would hope that you could spell correctly. You are mentally challenged. Otherwise known as slow or if that is too hard for you to understand, retarded! I am sorry to make fun of you, it is not nice to pick on those who are weaker than yourself. For the original poster, you might be able to get some reimbursement for your clothing if stocking chemicals is not in your job description. I would not bank on it however, WalMart is not known for their kind and generous policies toward their employees.

Freedomringer, you are awesome! I like how Senator Barok Obama assesses a situation by asking, "what if that were you; how would that make you feel?" Treat others with kindness and respect and dharma not karman will be your reward.

blola, I have lived a life of strife because I don't get even, I turn the other cheek. Some people just don't have a filter between their mouth and their brain. What is so great about this site is everyone is welcome to voice an opinion, whether they can spell or not. I am sorry ducit9ss or whatever your handle is, but try to see things from your "employees" point of view for a change. I am get so angry when I see obvious abuse of people. Why can't we all get along?

Even better places sell everything in cheap thin containers. As a customer and worker my sneakers clothes and vehicle have been ruined and I am waiting for a nice lawyer to file for damages. I will gladly add my name to a class action motion. Not that I expect any real compensation I just want them to take notice. Leaky containers are for the birds.

I'm not sure you could get Walmart to pay for it. I think it comes down to determining who is responsible to ensuring that product gets shipped out and put on display without being damaged. If the leak was from a faulty cap, it may be the manufacturer's fault, if the bottle was cracked, it could have been mishandled by the store (Walmart) or even the consumer who may have dropped it. You can see there is no easy way to determine who caused the problem. That is why I think you might be out of luck. You could try asking Walmart, but from what I hear, they are not overly generous when it comes to taking care of their employees. Perhaps you could shed some light on that topic. In any case, my opinion is that you don't know what you can get until you ask! Good luck!

My employees might catch a nail and terror there close or get grease on them or damage them in many ways. Basically you are looking for someone to cover for your own accident. Sounds good to attack the monster Wal Mart but suck it up and get a better job someday and stop whining.
