The BIMBO and her MINIONS are stil attacking me!

Yes, people, the beat goes on. here is an update you will find amazing, if not unbelievable - but I swear it is true. Had to go to the main office of my former job from hell, yesterday, to sign the termination/settlement agreement. I had an appointment with HR and the Administrator, so it is not like it was a surprise visit. I had to drive for 45 minutes (yes, that was my daily commute) to get to the building, which is a very large office structure in the middle of the city, with multiple towers. Then, in order to get access into any of the offices, a visitor such as myself must go to "guest services" and be issued a Guest Pass. OK, so far, so good. I went to the "Guest Service Desk", and the Guest Pass was already waiting for me, very good. Then, a call was made up to the office, contacting HR to tell them I had arrived. OK, great. That is, until I approached the guard at the elevators, to go up to the office. All of a sudden, I am told that I cannot go up, as my name was "flagged" as a "person of interest". ??? Me? Little me? I was shocked, as I have never been arrested, not even for unpaid traffic tickets, in my entire life! I was told to sit down on a bench, and wait for the "Supervisor of Building Security". Oh, my god. I sat there, wondering if they were going to frisk me or something. Finally, after what seemed like ages, where various office types went back and forth staring at me like I was an alien life form, the Security Officer showed up, hand on holster, complete with "back-up", looking all around for the "suspect". You should have seen the look on theri faces, when it finally dawned on the officers that it was me. They put me through a bit of an interrogation, wanting to know the "nature of my visit", as a "former employee". I explained that I had an appointment, and showed them that I had been issued a guest pass. They took my information, went back to the service desk, re-called the office, etc. When they had determined that I was not a threat, they told me I could go up, and I could tell they felt embarrassed. Obviously they had been given a somewhat exaggerated accout of my "threat level". Anyway, I was curious as to why I was put through a detainment process and interrogation, especially as I had an appointment, so I called the main security number for the entire building. I was told very curtly on the phone by another officer that they had simply been following procedure, as my name had been given to them with instructions that I have been retricted from access, without special permission. Furthermore, he told me that my name was being "read off" every morning to the Security Department for the entire building, as a possible hostile former employee. I am in SHOCK! This seems to me to be slanderous. I have never so much as made a verbal threat to any one of them, and D*MN was the worst swear word I ever used in their presence. If you guys knew me,personally, you would see that this is absolutely ludicrous. Is this normal procedure for most companies-am I being overly senstive? It definitely seems designed to further embarrass and intimidate someone for no real reason, except for another power trip.

Send a lawyer or other representative. I wouldn't hesitate to call the day editor of the local paper or tv/radio station either!

Why be surprised? Your Bimbo EX-Manager is just making a drama for herself. Ignore it, let it go. It's over....

Dharmadee, I think it's easy to be offended here. It's rather insulting. But you know now that this is an awful environment and you know the bridge has been burned and it is not appropriate to expect anything other than the treatment you received. While not fair, it is to be expected. I think Southern's right, it's a good thing to look ahead and begin to move past it. This last move on their part just reinforces the fact that it is a toxic place and not a place where you belong. Consider it a blessing that they make it so hard for you to get back in. (I know, easier said than done, but it is advice I would want someone to give me when I needed it).

Thanks, guys. I really don't want to go in back there, so I guess I can consider this latest nastiness from them as a definite message from the universe! it just caught me by surprise, to hear on the phone from the security officer, that my name was being "announced" every morning as a security risk. Also, it may impact me in the future, as I will not be able to go anywhere in that building without risking another embarrassing episode. This is a large central city hub that hosts weekend shows, seminars, etc. I am just mortified to think that I am being labeled in this way. If I had any doubt about what type of people they really are, (not just my Bimbo Ex-manager, the whole rotten bunch of them!) I guess that this episode took care of that.

I think there are actually biblical passages about slander to the degree that a man's name, in effect, IS that man. To defile your reputation is no small stuff. I agree with number one that you need to take some legal action for defamation of character. - Some will note that you didn't take action on that very day during the interaction with security, but that's okay. Fact is, "your reputation precedes you" and there is no question word has traveled about your contaminated, and therefore dubious reputation. - I say take action! Been there, done that.

Dharmadee, if you want to have one bit of fun. Do a google on FAXBACK numbers. A faxback number is a number where you request information (such as an application) be sent to your fax machine. Get 10 or more faxback numbers and then dial them up and request something be sent TO YOUR BIMBO MANAGERS PHONE. The numbers will retry several times and 10 numbers will tie up her phone for 30 minutes with the fax signal. I save this trick for people who REALLY tick me off. If someone were to trace back the number, they would only find a fax number and have no way of knowing who did it...

I AM concerned about my reputation, as I have always been as honest and decent a person as I know how to be, and it does hurt me to think that my name has been smeared in this way. The day that it happened, I thought that there was some sort of mistake, (and that is what they told me, it was a "mix-up") until I called the security office the next day for clarification, in case I would have to go back in for any reason. That is when I was told the truth, as difficult as it was for me to hear. In my opinion, this type of underhandedness might be typical, but it certainly does not mean that it is "OK". I am afraid that we have gotten to a point in this society where almost everything is tolerated in the workplace, for the sake of "keeping the peace" (read "CYA"). I sure wish I had some way to nail these clowns, but no one wants to stand up to them, not even other attorneys. And, since I WAS willing to walk away, you would think that they would just leave me alone, but it is like they can't help themselves. They are literally poisonous. My feeling is, they are keeping the Bimbo because she IS exactly what they want: a nasty, two-faced, lying tramp without a conscience who will fall into line for whatever they want, whenever they want and with whomever they want. If that is what corporate America has become, they can have it.

OMG. Today, it was the THIRD time I had to go back and re-sign the termination agreements that were not correct due to one or two words (they wrote them up, not me). G*DD*MN lawyers!!! I can't tell yet if this is just carelesness on their part or something worse. I am worried that they will not hold up their part of the bargain, or this is just another example of "dragging their feet" to make me suffer a little more. (which would be stupid on their part, but who knows?). I really hope and pray I am done with these clowns, and they will just let me get on with my life. Talk about TOXIC. It seems like the more powerful a corporation is, the more they think they are above the law. It is sad, bcause I will miss a lot of my co-workers a lot, even if they were not able to step up for me in the end.

How's it going Dharm? Private life agreeing with you or are you still dealing with skillfully placed traps?----------

Now "he had his hand on the holster as he entered the room"!!! And with back-up? -- If he had been a nervous and jumpy wanna-be-cop and you had been upset and made a sudden move we would be looking at a funeral and a security guard in jail. Your former employers must have done some despicable deeds to give such instructions to the security guards, afraid for their miserable worthless lives no doubt.------Thank you for sharing this horrible experience with us---forearmed and all that.....Years from now I will have to deal with a former employer to get a small pension. Now I know what I can expect. I also plan to live to 102 minimum.
