A couple of months ago the company I work for hired a new receptionist to replace the previous one who had just gotten promoted. I am completely amazed that she still has a job considering she hasn't gone an entire week with getting to work on time and has already missed almost a week of work. But that's really not the worst part. This woman can't answer phones!!!!!! She can never remember who is calling, can't transfer properly, doesn't scrren calls, and continually lets calls go to voice mail during business hours. Serveral of our clients have called complaining they can't even reach the receptionist and have to call over and over until she finally answers. She's always on her cell phone which is probably the reason calls aren't being answered. But the worse part is that she's always trying to dump calls on me or my coworker if she can't find the person the caller has requested. Now I certainly don't mind helping out but I work in the busiest area of the company and do not have time track down other coworkers. That's why she has a paging system!
I guess she's been talked to a couple of times about her work ethic but she's still here and she still strolls in late almost everyday. The kicker is that we just found out she may be dating one of the higher ups so that means she'll probably end up getting promoted instead of fired. My co-workers are just hoping and praying someone will finally wise up and get rid of her.

I'll bet that: a)the receptionist is late because she's just climbed out of the sack with your boss. b)the week she was out was spent mostly with your boss. c)the person she talks to on her cell phone is the boss or a close friend she uses as a sounding board as to her next moves. Suggest that she become the bosses' personal assistant, and get someone who REALLY wants to work do the receptionist thing...
