American Showa Inc. Management Sucks.....Dont Get a Job Here Please Dont!!!!!

Ok, so what I have to say pertains to all those people out there wanting to get a job at the American Showa Inc. plant in Blanchester, Ohio. Please think twice before you do so cause you will be in the closest place to Hell a human can be in. I mean Temporarys get treated like crap, and thats coming from a Full time associate in me, they tell you that you have to get so many hours then you get hired such a lie, you wont get hired for at least 6 months to a year.

Plus they don't pay the temps anything hardly I believe it's like $8.75 an hour way not worth what you have to put up with, plus to allot of the associates they hold back your check on more than one occasion saying it's an accounting problem, and you wont receive a check until like 5 days later. Plus most of the full time associates will treat you like crap, not me, but most of them will treat you bad. Now on to the full time associates, it dont get any better there they get treated like shit also, for example I had a friend that used to work here until he go smart and retired from this hell hole, anyways he thought he was having a heart attack and he was being taken out on a stretcher, and the next day when he came back the office tried to give him an occurence for not clocking out while on the stretcher and being taken out by the paremedics, before he left. And this man is in his mid sixties with a pacemaker and they had the nerve to try to give him an occurence, thats how well they treat their employees here at American Showa.

Also, here at Showa they don't care about their parts all they care about is a clean work area. For example a friend of mine who is a good worker and always is getting treated like crap, I really feel sorry for him, works on a certain line in an area where there is no ventilation, had his fan taken away by management for no reason whatsoever at all, and now not only does he work on the worst position on that line but has to do it without a fan. Well, thats not all but everyone on that line and the lines in the clean room had to endure some hazardous work related issues a couple days ago when the company made a decision to sand and paint the floors while they were working, instead of waiting towards the weekend and letting everyone off, so they didn't have to smell the paint fumes and be endured to all the paint dust and everything, I mean for crying out loud the people doing the floor were wearing masks, and the Showa associates were given nothing, except getting their fans taken away. Anyways, someone needs to check this place out before they put anyone else into danger or bad circumstances. Thanks

P.S. Please if anyone wonts a job here please don't come here unless you don't love life and enjoy living it.

Contact OSHA and the Labor Department. I am sure that they would like to hear from you and others like you!

It absolutely riles me up when a company doesn't hold up it's end of the deal and pays its employees on time. It shows not only a lack of compassion but respect as well.

I think I would also worry about the drug use that's going on there. Its sad you not only have to worry about finding a good job, but also have to worry about if you will be working side by side with someone that's high.

I have worked at ASI for a month now. All the jobs there are mostly easy. OK you think the management suck right. They are trained to be that way. Any place you go its the same way like ABX AIR INC they train there management to treat people like they are stupid. But you should not complain you make good money and paid health ins. With all the comp. leaving the USA you should love this place. Try to find another job. Good luck with that ABX is going to shut down and there will be 10,000 people looking for work. So if Showa is such a bad comp to work for let an ABX employee have your job, they would love to have it.

After reading this comment it is obvious there is not a written skill level required to work at Showa. (There should be!) If you work like you spell and write you should be fired. Go to work do the best job you can! Mind your own business and be thankful for your employment!

I personally worked for American Showa in Sunbury Oh. And yes it took me approx. six months to get hired in. They told me upfront what was expected of me and I did it. I had a good rapore with my co-workers and supervisors. And point blank I liked my job! I even had some health issues that I could work thru and they held my job position 6 months. It was a very clean pleasant work enviroment, of course you have the complainers that you can never satisfy, but you have that everywhere and you also have those that really don't want to work. One thing that always amazed me is the ones that are there and get hired in making a decent living, and point out by missing work or just don't care in general. Bottom line is, there are no perfect places to work. But that's life, in an imperfect world. P.S. If you think you had it bad what about the people that work as temps at Honda and have been there 2 or 3 yrs. Face it maybe your cut out for the manufacturing world.

I happen to like American Showa. They offer eceptional oppertunities to their employees.... Look at all the lay off's and unemployment around us! DHL / ABX is going under soon, 9500 plus people will be screaming for work within the area's of Wilmington, Blanchester, Hillsboro, W.C. House and other close surrounding area's that they live within the next year. The Manufacturing Industry within the area is totally sucking right now. You shouldn't complain, be happy for that paycheck that others do not currently have right now. You may think it sucks, but ask the man or woman struggling right now with a mortgage payment and kids to feed every month, if it would suck. Yeah, so they require you to work a few hours extra every week! Most of the people working there wouldn't survive without all the OT.

sick of the cry babies(08/30/2010)
I am sick of hearing everyone crying. I work a the Blanchester Plant. I thank God everyday for my job. I have been at that plant for 11yrs. I think that if management would get rid of all the cry babies which are mainly the old dogs we would have a better work enviroment. They are the ones that bring the rest of us down. Be thankful you still have a job. If you dont like how things are ran then quit and let someone else have the job that would appreciate it. Suck it up and be the man or woman that your suppose to be. You want to be lazy and unaprecative like I said QUIT.
