There are some serious problems with inter office relationships and no I don't mean the lower level staff. It affect moral in the building and is the reason why most of the lower line staff has quit or been fired; there's barely any one left from day one hire and we haven't even hit a year yet. There are 4 managers: 1 is dating a bartender (FOH), the other is pregnant by the chef (OPS manager, & YES pregnant.), and the other I hear is seeing one of the hosts (GM). The other manager (Bar) is probably the only sane one and the only one who doesn't have the hormones of a 10th grade girl. Because of this, favoritism is played and people are often fired or quit due to high emotions and teaming up on. There is an incredibly high turnover, which did not become a problem until the managers started to lose grip of their libidos. We had the same staff for almost 6 months after opening and then the mess began. The GM, protects the Ops manager for some reason even though constant complaints are being made about her from every last employee including myself. The complaints go from harassment to racial slurs, to comments about peoples pay grade and more. She's a b**** and for the life of me I cannot understand why she still has a job. Especially since it came to light that she was accused and prosecuted for theft at her last position. The Chef, or should I say her "baby daddy", is a misogynistic a**hole who is incredibly rude and disrespectful and talks down to all the staff. He oversteps his bounds and has slept with both managers which is probably why neither will put him in his place. He also makes racial slurs and is responsible for most of the black staff being let go early on. He is disliked and complained about by all the staff but again, the GM could care less. He's either being blackmailed by these two or he just doesn't care. I understand that there must be unity amongst management but wrong is wrong. The only manager worth trusting is the FOH manager. Her name is Tyler, she's had her bad days but she is upfront and honest about everything and it's pretty much what you see what you get with her which makes her easy to get along with, confide in, and an exemplary manager.
Wrong is wrong. Point blank period. If your Chef is allowed to follow around a staff member not a part of his kitchen harassing her and forcing her to leave premises after saying, "This is my business and I can do what I want" - Chances are the guy needs a good lashing or to be fired. If the OPS manager has a pattern of fabricating lies to get staff fired who she favors less, chances are she needs to be fired or evaluated harshly. If more than one of your staff decides to purposely not show up for work and when asked why her reason is because "the management team is f****d" - chances are, more need to be discussed in "managers meetings" besides what to order from Jimmy Johns and what S.I.N. themes should be. I've worked at places with some messed up management staff but this place? Where else do you know of the chef sleeping with the entire portion of the management team that's female and then impregnating one?! I'll wait....
WYZ was the weirdest company I ever worked at hands down. Even the way they did payroll was weird. What really hurts about all of this is that I thought I was being picky and sat thru multiple interviews to get the position. At no point did I ever see any obvious red flags come up. Just SOME of the issues at WYZ:
After I saw him repeatedly bend over backwards for men and refer to his female boss openly and in an angry way, as a be-atch, I began to wonder if he wasn't just a woman hater. I found out several months after I left that this was probably true, as at that time, a couple of guys (hopefully my former boss was one of them), got turned in for swearing (or ___?), and everyone at WYZ had to watch a harassment video. I'm sure that accomplished nothing there, though. HR was in on some of the nasty business going on.
Along with this, at least one of the HR people who had been there a while had a bus load of favorites whom all got whatever they wanted and could do whatever they wanted, with absolutely no repercussions. Two hour lunches, fine for them. Anyone else do anything like that, they'd get threatened or even canned. This HR person repeatedly put her favorites or her favorites' favorites in charge of things, even if it meant promoting them over someone who was more deserving. AND, at least half of these people were seemingly incompetent, if not down right cruel. One of her favorites, literally acted like a little princess and would chastise people for any little thing she thought they did wrong right in front of others, no questions asked. Me, I'd help people if they were not understanding something. This princess, on the other hand, would go for the jugular. Most horrible about all of this--I felt had to keep quiet, as these were people who I'd be dependent on for a job reference if I ever left, and no sooner than I arrived, was I already starting to formulate an exit plan!
A hard lesson learned. Probably the biggest lesson I learned is if you have a good boss (and I had a great boss at my former job), you are better off staying at your position regardless of what other negativities may be going on.
AND, I know the above sounds like bitter grapes and terribly biased, but I found out after I left that others felt similarily!
I can feel these posts, especially the ones about being lied on and treated badly. I onced worked for a so-called government job and was lied on all the time until I no longer worked there. The place was filled with a lot of hateful, racist, miserable, jealous hearted people, with a PARANOID, STUPID ASS OVERSEER, who could not distinguish between the truth and lies. Totally unqualified for his position as well as the stupid lame brain Director of Human Resources and her associates.
However, the worst part of it all, is I was propositioned by a lying WHITE FAT ASS BLOB, WITH THE INITIALS (MF) and when I did not want his fat ass, he made up a lot of lies with the help of his WHITE co-workers, management and the crab in the barrel black employees too, to make it seem like something other than the truth and schemed and plotted to get me out the door. Also tried to make it seem like I had an attitude. ANYBODY WOULD HAVE AN ATTITUDE, WHEN YOU ARE SUBJECTED TO BEING MISTREATED, LIED ON AND SET-UP EVERYDAY. Too cowardly to accept responsibility for anything, always the next persons fault or set-up being(HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT). Always trying to stand behind integrity and wanting to uphold it. INTEGRITY MY ASS. All the management did there was screw up shit, throw people under the bus and lie about it... I also was subjected to sexual harassment from another co-worker with the initials (TH).
He too was a BIG LIAR, that got away with his behavior. Out of all the stunts they pulled, they are still working there. Goes to show you how corrupt the government system is in the STATE OF GEORGIA. SEXUALLY HARASS A (BLACK) woman, then LIE on her and get away with it. This garbage went on and on. PUT up with that bullshit because I needed a job. Convinced the work environment and other management that I was not fit for my job, when I had documentation proving otherwise. I guess you can make it seem like a person can not do their job when you are constantly setting them up and also made up all kind of lies that were absurd, ridiculous and were contradictions. (STUPID ASS) PEOPLE WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING.
TO THE FAT ASS BLOB. YOU NEED TO GET A LIFE AND SOME HELP. NOBODY WANTS YOUR FAT ASS AND YOUR CROOKED MOUTH EMPLOYEE EITHER. The stuff that they are doing and have done to her is ridiculous. Lying and just making up crazy stuff on that woman. Some of the stuff does not even make sense. Trying to destroy her reputation all because she would not fool around with the married low-lives that worked at that place. These are a list of things that I saw and heard they did to her.
1.) Hacked into the womans personal email account and phone and were sending information from it as though she was sending it.
2.) Called and or were calling the jobs she was working on and was trying to get her fired.
3.) Putting other people and businesses to tell lies on the woman.
4.) Lied and claimed she used her work phone for personal use when so infact it was her own phone she purchased. I saw the receipt from when she purchased it and from whom.
5.) Putting other men (married) and otherwise to harass the woman or provoke her on her job.
6.) Leaving personal information of people around trying to set the woman up.
7.) Following, profiling and stalking the woman wherever she went.
8.) Claiming the woman is not who she says she is and not a legal citizen when she is. The lady has verifiable documentation and recognized by the state she's from and lives as a legal BORN African American resident and citizen.
9.) falsifying and fabricating information along with authorities, businesses and all against her.
10.) Claiming she took stuff and she didn't..WITH NO PROOF! Just Lies..
You should SUE the crap out of them. I have your back. Nobody should have to deal with mess like this. They know they were wrong and now trying to cover their asses because they told LIES and retaliated against you for the harassment you dealt with. You have the right to live your life in peace. Stop letting them bully you. STOP BEING NICE AND LETTING THEM GET AWAY WITH IT! SUE THEM!!!!

OH my!!! This was by far the WORST job I have ever had!!! The worst place to work. First of all NO ONE is properly trained. There are way toooooo MANY chiefs with NOT enough Indians in this place!!! Everyone comes at you telling you a different way they want things dones. Seems as the store is a mess so is the background office keeping. No one seems to know what is store policy and what isn't. Then you have OLD folks who think they know what policy is and they take to to high levels of extreme measures. LMAO the place looks horrible cause seems as though there are sooo many clicks within the place. Everyone knows everyone outside of work so they rally all together against other ppl. Well seems as though I didn't fit in... I don't party drink or smoke. I know what the word professionalism means!!! Even the managers well one in particular seem to know what goes on in others private lives. I thought Managers were NOT allowed to fratinize with employees under them!!! Well not the case at this store. There is one front end manager not saying any names that fratinizes with all the woman. He approached me at work and gave me his personal cell number. Well after lead me on for a while I finally gave in and called him. What a huge mistake that was!!!! We were intimate then seems as though he turned things around to try to make it look like it was ME going after HIM when he would tell me at work to call him and to be patient.. never could figure out what he wanted me to be patient about... patient while he picked which one of his employees he really wanted to be WITH.... lmao.
Things got so bad that other ppl I am guessing he told about our intimate encounter started harassing me at work. Doing things to make me like trying to boss me around or trying to make me look bad to other members of management. I thought about taking this up with a lawyer and I may still cause I believe that the managers sexual harassment toward me caused a hostile work environment for me to the point that I had to quit... Come to think of it this particular manager was transferred here from another TJ maxx... I came online to research and see if there were any other sexual harassment charges against tj maxx that involved this same manager. Seems like he knows how to run a smooth game on woman. Pushing them into the corner making them feel like it was THEM.... I was NOT the one who was supposed to be professional he was my manager.. I wasn't his. I just caution anyone who wants to work at this store... BEWARE!!!! Do not let anyone get mad at you cause if they do the whole store will turn against you and make your life a living hell... that is why I quit walked out and left... I couldn't take it anymore...

I would never admit to anyone that I am perfect, I know I am not. I treat people how I would want to be treated and leave it at that. It does not matter to me what race, age, background or where you are from, everyone in my eyes is equal to me, until you throw stones at me or mistreat me for no reason, then I would just simply not want to be bothered with you and eventually lump you in a category. It is as simple as that. No one deserves to be mistreated for any reason.(I left that situation in peace, did not retaliate, had anything negative to say about the organization nor the individuals there. But even after leaving there, they would still not leave me alone and was interfering with me moving on to gain other employment.) They got what they wanted, me being out of the picture; however, the harassment still continued and is ongoing. What kind of job and or people does that? This has been going on since February. Harasser(s) and or someone still working there trying to sneakily contact me after I left.. I had to have my number changed over several times..After all that has happened, I just wanted to simply move on to another job and with my life and to be left alone, but since that is not the case and they will cease to do so, I am voicing my case on the matter.
Finally, With all that being said, I just wanted to get this message out there about this organization, the GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE, so people would know the kind of individuals that work for this agency and would be very cautious of obtaining employment there. If you are great at super @$$ kissing, do not mind all the married men constantly harassing you for sex to keep your job or favors, being set up and lied on, being subjected to a hostile environment because of jealous women and not having too the temperament to put up with it for the fear of losing your job, then this agency is the right agency for you and you should put in an application as soon as possible. Fear for your well being and job because the Human Resource department will not help you at all... Again, not an attempt to falsely claim anything or unfairly comment on the matter..Just simply telling the truth as I experienced it so that the next person or no one would have to go through the same experiences.I would have never had to resort to these measures and continue to if they or whomever is in association with them ((would just plain and simply get out of my life and leave me alone....How do you keep harassing an interfering with and employee after you have let them go and they have been gone for several months..Absolutely ridiculous and crazy!)) Told and perpetuated so many LIES, all because I would not fool around with a Married man or men working there...Makes you think that companies and organizations should start conducting psychiatric evaluations on people before they hire them and put them into any position, especially Management positions...

Looks like you basically wanted to be left alone and had no other options but to take matters into your own hands. I had a friend who went through almost the same thing. Human Resources is NOT on the employees side and if all that went on and is still within that organization, most potential employees should steer clear. As far as them interfering with you gaining employment elsewhere is actually illegal, but you have to handle that the best you can. Seek some legal guidance. As a government organization they should be held up to a hire standard than that..Just remember the more negativity or wrong doing someone dishes out to you it comes back to them 10 fold. She was one of the manager's neice, which made it even worse. She even went as far as spreading rumors about me that were not true. I just did the best I could of covering my behind, working extra hard and just ignoring her until one day she went too far and spread a rumor that I had B.O., when it was in fact her who had the bad B.O. I took it to her manager and personnel but they never did anything about. Eventually all her crap caught up with her and they let her go. I do not take joy and pleasure in anyone's situation, but she made her own bed. Karma is a b!#*.
By office101:It is quite obvious what went on here. It is simply called a "quid pro quo". The manager made a proposition, but in this case you did not go for it. He kept trying, did not get anywhere, got scared that you were going to expose him, so he started putting situations in to effect to make you look bad and get rid of you. Personnel possibly could have even been part of it. He probably also has done this before with other women, they went for it and he got away with it.

Hmmmm, seems quite "suspect" on their part. They let you go right at getting five years too. If there were any issues like you mentioned, they could have talked to you about it. I have seen people lie on other employees all the time and assume the wrong things. A lot of it is out of jealousy and anomosity. I am willing to bet you, there are employees still working there who has done far worse and are doing far worse than you had, especially the ones you say harassed you. If they got away with it they will do it again. It is a shame and unfortunate that it is hard to obtain a job, but adding on to that someone on a job abusing their power of authority to take advantage of employee because they feel they can due to knowing that an employee needs a job. By NonEssential30:I worked at this job for about over 3 years and had a manager who also tried to proposition me when I got hired. He was a whale of a man. I just ignored him, but he would not let up. I tried to get out of his department, but he blocked me every time. I have no idea what would have made him think that I wanted him. I was not even physically attracted to the guy and he was also married. I absolutely do not date married me. I guess to salvage his ego, reputation and job, he made up a lot of lies on me and tried to get me fired.
I loathe men who lie on their you know what. It was a very uncomfortable, frustrating situation. So I definitely feel this post. Some men can not take no for an answer and can't deal with rejection. When women do not want to be bothered with them they get angry, resentful and try to get back at the women. The act is so immature and sad. I left that job and boy I am glad I do not have to put up with him anymore. Hail to the real, good men out there who do not or attempt to cheat on their wives on the job or otherwise.

There are some good, honest men out there in Management positions but the rest are just wolves in sheeps clothing, basically using their jobs as a cover to cheat on their wives.

What is going on here is that they do not want you to get hired on anywhere else, for the most part a Private Sector job. Could be your ex manager, could be his manager, HR or the place as a whole.

The following you around is to catch you doing something illegal, so you would have something against you and a record. All the rest of the foolishness and lies is just to basically make you look bad and mess up your credibility. Sum it all up to putting you in a situation for a potential employee not to hire you..That is all it is. Dear get you a lawyer. I have experience in knowing this. They should be better than this as a Government organization. Expose them for this mess.

By HR_Guru:Seems like there was a lot of unprofessionalism at play here. If Managers do not communicate one on one with their employees. It leaves the door open for a lot of wrong assumptions and misconceptions. There are a lot and different kind of rules of engagement when dealing with staff. One rule to keep note, is to never resolve issues with an employee based off input from another employee, that creates bias due to the intentions and motivations of that employee concerning the other. Most employees always try to up themselves so to speak or make themselves look good by putting down another employee or simply being untruthful. Some members of management do this as well when they feel threatened by an employee on the basis that the employee has enough business sense and intellect to probably do a better job.

That comment about your degree just sounds like a lie. I am sure they did a background check when they hired you. If there was something questionable about your background, would it have been the matter of bringing it to your attention all the time you were there. You were there for 5 years. They had plenty of time. A lot of nonsense to me. Basically someone going to a lot of extremes to cover their ass.

How would that be anybody's fault. If they had any sense they would have asked you to explain. Just looks like they were trying anything they could think of to get you out the door. Also in the comment above, if they did a background check on you they would have gotten the correct information. They could have asked you or simply called the school and verified. Just because they are a government organization that does not mean that they are not capable of lying. The government lies all the time on people and to them.

How do you know that is was a man alone at your job spreading these lies about you? Could have very well have been a woman or women. Women are very territorial and extremely jealous hearted. I have seen women go after other woman and attack them and spread rumors and lies simply because another woman gets more attention than they do and they are jealous. It is sad and pathetic but it happens. As far all the rest of the information mentioned, anyone with bulls#!t goggles on can see what went on in that situation concerning letting you go. If they called the university to verify your education, the school is going to say this person with this name went here and they can say you did not go there. You can tell that they are not very bright whoever is claiming you did not attend a university. I am pretty sure you have graduation pictures, school I.D's with your picture on them and of being a Designer a portfolio of work and other documentation,with not only having a degree. If you were there you also have people, professors, friends, acquaintances that can also verify that you attended. I guess they did not think about that. They are really dumb. It is just common sense to have just simply asked you to explain or for you to provide proof, with not only calling the school.

This is the worst job I have ever had. For starters let me first stipulate that these comments are in no way unfairly bashing anyone or a company. These comments are based off events that actually occurred and are 100% true and correct as they happened and the issues and matters that are still going on regarding them.
I worked for a government organization for 5 years and was excessively sexually harassed, bullied and lied on continuously. After I complained about it and filed a complaint, I was fired. I was fired a little right before I was to completely get 5 years with the organization as a permanent employee. At that moment I would have been somewhat vested in the organization. They did that to hurt me amongst other things. As far as the harassment was concerned, I did everything humanly possible to get the harasser to leave me alone, but it never stopped. I brought it to my Manager on several occasions and he did nothing but slap the person on the wrist because he had sexual intentions towards me himself...He even propositioned me when I got hired for sex and I rejected him. Over a period of time he kept up the Shenanigans but I just avoided him as much as possible even though he was my direct Manager. From that point on he had it in for me. (Did I mention that both perpetrators are Married). It was made as though I was making a big deal out of the matter, but how would you feel if you were constantly telling a married man or men on the job every single day, you do not want them, you are not attracted to them, they are married and you have no interests in married men and they still will not leave you alone, even subject or put you in a position of losing your job if you do not submit to them. This is what I experienced on a everyday basis. My job at that point became a nightmare because they started to cause a lot of issues against me.
Ultimately,it affected my work, my focus, my well being and my entire motivation for working there. Finally, after getting fed up with it, I took it upon myself to take matters into my own hands because the Human Resource Department and Management did absolutely, absolutely, nothing, especially the Human Resource Department. They in turn made the situation all about me. The harasser even admitted to harassing me during my employment. This admission was recorded. It was never my attention to cause conflict with this organization. They just (failed) to take care of the matters surrounding me..Made me out to be a complainer and punished me, instead of helping someone that was purely concerned about their welfare and well being working within their organization and wanting to simply do their job and be left alone.
Ultimately, I filed a complaint with the GEOC. And for those of you who do not know the acronym or abbreviation. It stands for Georgia Equal Opportunity Commission. They did absolutely nothing as well. Was very (biased), of course because the agency I filed against was another Government agency. Instead of helping me, they fed every bit of information back to my organization I provided to them, so that the organization could get all their ducks in a row, but told me nothing and or refuse to disclose to me what my organization was falsely claiming against me. And I say (falsely) because they refuse to inform me of the information and later tried to influence or talk me out of seeing it even though it was supposed to be part of public record that anyone can obtain.
If any of the statements indicated and or said within the document concerning me were true, why not let me be privy to it and inform me of it. The reason why is because they are (false)allegations and bunch of lies and any other information outside of that could have been directed to me. They did not want to confront me concerning it (Cowards) because they wanted to get rid of me for filing a claim against them (retaliation).The GEOC complaint eventually got overturned and dismissed due to them telling me that I did not have enough evidence. I had more than enough evidence even a recording of the harasser as I mentioned admitting to harassing me. They totally ignored that. I sought out legal help or so called legal help but no lawyer at the time wanted to go up against a government organization.
They tapped my phone, hacked into my computer and destroyed it several times, my personal property, had the police and private investigators follow me everywhere I went. Invaded my home. Stole private and intimate information off my computer and phone and disbursed it. Sabotaged my work, had me redo or trick me into doing a background check for a job I already had and then disbursed that information amongst everyone at the job. (Still have a copy of the document) Cheated me out of my last paycheck. There was an abundance of hate, racism and jealousy towards me. I would not want to say this but I say this as it is truthfully of my heart because this is what I observed and experienced. Out of all that chaos and conflict they fired me but told me they "laid me off" due to budget issues, so they would not get investigated. They plain and simply fired me because of that claim. Anyone who gets laid off is not escorted out of the building by security all the way out to their car and is subject to be hired back, especially if you are telling them that getting laid off was no fault of their own, other departments laid people off, your file has no negative information in it about you and if you wanted to get hired on at another state agency you could. This is what the Director of Human resources department conveyed to me. That conversation was recorded. All my performance reviews were great(I have copies of all of them) and I had no reprimands or write ups. They just told me that to keep me quiet so that I would not pursue a lawsuit against them. I took it with a grain of salt and believed in this individual of what they were telling me. After all this was the Director of Human Resources. Why would she lie to me? However, she and whomever (Former and Current Management upon leaving) was telling me one thing and telling other entities something entirely different. This as a result affected me and has affected me obtaining employment elsewhere.
I know this is an at will State, but what was done to me during my employment there was hateful, discriminatory, hostile and illegal and they know it. Just because they are a government agency, that does not mean that they are above the law. I was basically standing up and protecting myself against an organization who made crazy and untrue claims concerning me, bullied and harassed me. After realizing they were and still are interfering with me gaining employment elsewhere, I went back to the EEOC in Georgia as of today but of course the agency I worked for already knew I was going to do this because they still have my phone tapped. Needless to say to no avail they were absolutely not helpful at all..Constantly lied to me, talked over me and was not helpful whatsoever.
The individual I spoke with was named Mrs/Ms.Freeman or at least that is what she told me. She probably was lying about that too. They told me that the file I had put in originally there was destroyed as of August, this month. Coincidence right? It was destroyed the same month I came to get a copy of it. First they tell me they had it and I could get a copy, then they tell me it would take up to two weeks to get a copy, then they could not find it, then finally it was destroyed(laughable) This is where your tax dollars are going.
Here is a list of all the ridiculous lies they told regarding me.
1.) I am Hispanic and was impersonating someone else. My response: (First of all if I was Hispanic, I would have no issue of claiming that but that is definitely not the case. No offense to any other race, but I am African American and am proud of it. I have no earthly idea where they got that crazy notion. I do not even look mixed.)
2.) My education is false and my Degree is fake. My response: (My degree is NOT fake. I have 100% proof that my education and degree is not fake. My name is misspelled on my Degree in comparison to other information, no fault of my own..LMAO, so that makes it fake..Absolutely laughable and ridiculous. Where is their proof that it is fake? They have none, because it is a bogus lie. People misspell my name ALL the time, no surprise there. This was just another matter to discredit me out of my position. And as far as my skills are concerned, I have plenty of people; teachers, professors, family members, friends, associates that could back up my artistic ability over years and tons of files of past work (before) I got this job of credible design work and artistic ability.) Just because you have experience but do not regularly use Excel or Word on as a designated application tool for me Design work as a preferred application source to do my work that discredits me or disqualifies me regarding my skills. I have plenty of Design friends and have known quite a bit of Designers during my lifetime and they would look at me like I were crazy if I asked them about Designing in Word or Excel. They would actually laugh. Not to discredit Word or Excel applications. I think they are fine for whatever purposes they are used for but most Graphic Designers do not regularly use those programs for Designing. It is just simple research. Those apps are widely used mostly for office, business and or administrative processes and duties. Most if not all Graphic Designers, although they possibly have skills and experience using the above mentioned apps, they mostly use Adobe applications for Design and layout work. If that is not the case based from experience and research, than I surely stand corrected.
3.) I lied about my time spent or graduation time. My response: (Again laughable. I walked the stage at my commencement in 2001 under the impression I completed all my courses but later found out through communication from the University that I had 1 more credit to complete to which I was totally unaware of. Was going to go back to school to finish the credit, but it got put on the back burner for sometime due to financial reasons. My degree was released to me in 2006.)
4.) I committed fraud using or signing someone elses name. My response to the lie: (Again laughable and also bogus. Just because my name is spelled differently, I am supposed to be impersonating someone. OMG!
And this is a government agency who has tons of resources of figuring this out. Or just simply, I don't know, this maybe a difficult one here..Ummm, how about asking the individual you are making these accusations of for clarification and providing proof this matter or any other matter concerning them..Seems quite simple doesn't it. Not for some people.)

My response to the lie: (Now I do not have anything against the gay and lesbian community and if I were I would admit of being such, but I am straight and will be indefinitely. This accusation was just made by an insecure man or men who wanted to talk to me and or was harassing me at that job and I would not give them the time of day. Typical.)
6.) Lie number six. (That I have a chronic disease because I have allergies..I live in the state of Georgia and anyone who is prone to allergies here knows how it is. I had a full, complete, physical around four months ago and everything was just fine)..

They had absolutely no proof of this. They have cameras all over the place..laughable. Just another accusation and lie to discredit me. This is an easy stigma and stereotype to place on (black) people all the time, because it has scientifically and or theoretically been proven (laughable) that ALL black people steal. Makes accusations like that easily believable when it comes to any black person.)
There are some other ridiculous experiences to comment on having worked there, but by now I do not think I need to have to include them. I believe you get the picture at this point.

My only nephew was shot and killed two weeks ago and he was only 19 and just starting college. My only sister could not afford to pay for the funeral because of her financial situation and I could not help her because of mine. I still get saddened and cry of this. If I were working a stable job I would have been able to help her out more than I could..
I would never admit to anyone that I am perfect, I know I am not. I treat people how I would want to be treated and leave it at that. It does not matter to me what race, background or where you are from, everyone in my eyes is equal to me.
Finally, With all that being said, I just wanted to get this message out there about this organization, the GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE, so people would know the kind of individuals that work for this agency and would be very cautious of obtaining employment there. If you are great at @$$ kissing, do not mind all the married men constantly harassing you for sex to keep your job or favors, being set-up and lied on, being subjected to a hostile environment because of jealous women and not having too the temperment to put up with for the fear of losing your job, then this agency is the right agency for you and you should put in an application as soon as possible. Again, not an attempt to falsely claim anything or unfairly comment on the matter..Just simply telling the truth as I experienced it so that the next person or no one would have to go through the same experiences.

Add a ReplyOn Friday, about noon, my husband texts me at work to tell me he has to be in Miami by 10 or 11 THAT night. It is about a 5 hour drive.
Anyway, I asked my boss for the rest of the day off so I can help get him packed and stuff. She understood and let me go home.
On Monday morning she comes in and says "Did you get your man off?" I about died. As soon as the words left her mouth, she had a horrified "OMG that is grounds for a sexual harassment suit" look on her face. I just smiled a dirty little smile and said "Yes I did"

As an assistant manager at a TJMaxx store in Williamsport PA I am ashamed at how the other managers mistreat the crew here. The lies being told by the other "so called" managers are so rampant it is criminal. The gossip here is unbearalbe. Anorther thing I see all too much employess checks being ripped of by a little "game" that's played, and when emplyees complain about their checks being wrong eother from post scheduling change or flat out theft they are treated like idiots as if they screwed up their schedules and adding their hours up. Of course it wasn't due to a mansger "ripping them off"and then the cover up and we gotcha mentality begins. By the way one manager has a foot fetish who I found out sexually harassed two girls, but they settled out of court. Another manager from Pittsburgh is on his second marriage, is a big bullcrapper, and flirts to the point of sexual harassment. I wish he'd make up his mind whether to wear his stupid beard or not! Plus he "never" listens to our supervisors about anything regarding employee complaints. One manager who's a lesbian hates men, and constantly flips her courk when someone simply calls in sick especially a man. Another manager here is homosexual and very wacky to say the least. the managenment here are more corrupt than the crap in the news about customers getting their gift cards ripped off, but no doubt there is a TJMaxx pattern to ripping employees off and cleary customers.Good luck this Christmas if you get a gift card at any TJMAXX! Anyway, I'm not sure who to talk to, and it will no doubt be a legal mess for me here at TJMaxx, but I have had it. This place is a joke, and anyone reading this working at this TJMaxx if not all of them is tolerating childish assalts from managers who think they are Gods. By the way,no one has worked here more than 4 years and this store has been around for ten, because of the "games" these 3rd rate managers pull on good employees who just want a job. After a few years employees are discredited so they cannot get a good employment package like better insurance. Plus the quarter raises add up an the corporation frowns on employees who are getting a big hourly wage. Get rid of those who excel who are close to 5 years of employent is the unspoken rule here at "all" TJMaxx, Marshalls, and Homegoods stores. Most former employess fight these crooks out with the unemployment referee, some win, but those that lose find out their personal employment file has been played with to discredit them. Like excessive absnse they new nothing about, tardyness, fabricated customer complaints, infractions with certain managers etc etc.
Well, the bottom line is this is not a good place to work what so ever! I'm fed up with it here. Good luck if you shop for the thrift shop junk that's here too.

By Sphincter Detector:The reality is that retail outlets or other type of mid-scale jobs seldom requires its' personnel or new hires to have any training at all in the soft skills that support management rolls. Too often, the sole requirement is that they've simply held other management positions in the past and it is quite possible that even those positions didn't ask about the soft skills. So these people have luckily been able to acquire a history of management rolls to tack on to their resumes without ever having actually been trained to be an effective manager, a leader. Instead, you're dealing with ‘teenager' mentalities in grown adults, your dealing with poor negotiation skills, little or no performance management skills, and the maturity levels of pubescent school boys- behaviors are never effectively addressed because their managers are also in the same boat, bunch of idiots. The only way to deal with this type of environment is to learn to “mange your manager”. You don't need to physically be a manager in order to acquire management skills. If you yourself learn to performance manage, effectively negotiate, and deal with the difficult personalities, you will equip yourself how to deal with your mangers and ‘handle' them. You will have the leg up, knowledge is your power- they are so stupid, they won't even know they're being handled. We all know that documenting doesn't work in all environments, that only works when you have a well established, effective and competent HR that follows the rules and supports it's employees and if you have enough money to pursue legal recourse. Otherwise you need to learn how to navigate this environment or leave it. Those are your only two choices.

My married 40 year old soccer mom with 2 young kids female boss seems to have has a special relationship with my male 21 year old gang banger Mexican co worker. And no I'm not sterotyping - I'm treated to the stories of his thug life but I'm kind lost if they really are that dumb. Sex with a subbordinate is against policy. Is it a joke or is it real? It upsets me either way.
He acts like he owns the place now. She pets his hair and grabs his waist at work!. He is never disciplined and he feels the rules don't apply to him.
She hired him. Then she hired his friend who has no qualifications for a mid manager job. The person how "oversees" his day to day work is is friend.
The whole thing makes me infuriated!
I need to leave. And leave these people to their own demise. Just need to build up my p.t.o and get my parachute together then I'm outta there.

By Spincter Detector:I just finished a course on Respect in the Workplace, and it included a section especially about this type of harrassment, whereby you yourself are not being sexually harrassed but are uncomfortable by the sexual overtones, undertones or demonstrations of ofther coworkers or management. This also constitutes harrassment since sexual jokes, intimidation or other refereces are prohbited by company policy and federal HR mandates. So, if you think you need to quite because of all this 'overexposure', that is ripe for a lawsuite. Yes, it is prosecutable and if you walk into your HR departmenet and request to file a formal complaint, they will have no choice but to address it with the manger becuase the next step is federal and if you've filed a complaint internally, you are positoned for a lawsuite if your company does not address it or attempts to intimidate you or fire you for squeeling. You're covered every way. Do not put up with this nonsense, and fight for the rights that other people faught so hard for you to have!

By Auntie AB:Yikes! This sounds like a TEXAS workplace!!! Eeeek! The ugly day hab I worked at until 2.5 years ago was rampant with this type of behavior. The boss (an in the closet Anglo lesbian) was having an open affair with a Hispanic female subordinate. We all saw it and had to work around it. Wouldn't have bothered me EXCEPT that the boss openly disdained and mistreated those of us who were non-Hispanic and over 40. Those workers who were Hispanic of ALL AGES? They were given SPECIAL treatments (2 hour lunches and no charge for vacations). The rest of us? We couldn't even take bathroom breaks, or get a bite to eat or even go to the water fountain for a drink. In the end? I went to EEOC here in San Antonio and was told I had "no case" because this is ALLOWED in an "at will employment" state (Texas/Alabama). Basically the boss/HR can do what they damn well please! GUARANTEED...the gangbanger will NOT be disciplined and the cougar and he will continue their "lovely" relationship again for ALL TO SEE!
