Clinic Manager From Hell Written by Lowley Worker on 09/28/2012Jem is the boss from hell alright. She has a hard time dealing with stress. She manages a good sized medical clinic in a small town that also has two other clinic systems. The other clinics are smaller and tied to area hospitals. Jem's clinic is part of a larger system that is known to be pretty ruthless. Jem fits the ruthless model to a T.

Within the past several months, the clinic has been converting to a new system, and it has left Jem on edge. She has left insulting and nasty messages on people's voice mail, lost her temper, lied, and generally carried on like a spoiled brat.

Jem plays favorites, but treats people who are not on her favorite list very badly. She is sarcastic and vicious behind their backs, and sugary sweet in person. We are all on to her, but somehow she prevails.

We have a real problem with medical staff turnover, but Jem seems to be oblivious to it. No one knows why Jem remains on the job. Talk about Teflon! Nothing sticks to this woman, including complaints and grievances.

Anyone who throws a temper tantrum one minute but turns all sugary sweet the next has some sort of issues. She might be bipolar. Wish I knew how she retains her job.

Whoever this is just sounds like a two faced immature person, playing office politics and possibly a not too good manager. There are a lot of people in government like this. We all get upset about things and express emotion. It is called the human condition. Some people just deal with situations differently than others. I would not necessarily consider this person to be bipolar. Bipolar is a serious condition as well as any other medical condition and should not be taken as a joke. I know first hand of someone who actually has it and it is not pretty. So think twice before you falsely label someone with a medical condition, whether joking or not. This person just probably needs to grow up and needs more management training and training on how to treat people.
