I was made the fool Written by Go with your gut on 04/26/2012I admit it, I was stupid. I accepted the job with a supermarket, questioning just how long the store would remain open. After a month, I found out from a customer that we are going to be closing. The next day, a manager from another part of the state is brought in to break the news. Sit through a long meeting having everything you aren't entitled to explained to you. You must fill out this form, showing interest or no interest in a transfer to another part of the country as they are basically pulling out of the state. Say yes, to Management in 1000 miles away (what I wanted when I was hired.). Receive call from HR while at work, call back the next day and basically get laughed at for even thinking it was a possibility. The kicker, I had turned down another job offer, which I actually would rather have had, as I had already begun here and felt I owed them something. The joke turned out to be on me.Read 2 Replies | Add a Reply

Correct that to the manager was from another part of the country, not state.

That is very disheartening. So sorry to hear it. Sure hope things turn around quickly for you.
