Say What?

This happened today, I came home for lunch and my wife told me to call the garage to see about her car repairs and to use her cellular phone as she was expecting a call from her sister.

Note - We have never used this dealership before.

So I pick up her cell and dial the number and the guy on the other ends says "Hey!"

I pause and say is this [name of garage]?

The voice says "Oh! I'm sorry, I recognized this number and thought it was someone else".

Now, I realized this guy made a mistake but I couldn't resist.

In a gruff voice I said "Man, you &#%@ well better NOT recognize this number! This is my wifes CELL PHONE!!!!"

There was a pause and then a delay and suddenly he was back stammering...

"SIR! I'm sorry! I just looked at the first three digits and thought this was my best friend calling for lunch!"

I started laughing and said "I'm just kidding, I figured you made a mistake"...

It was funny though...

I wouldn't laugh to hard... what if he really did recognize the number and just didn't confess... you better check those phone logs!!!!
