I wish this was true! Maybe the part about system programmers... but not the executives... they make sure their jobs are safe and cushy regardless...

As funny as it the clip was it is starting to hit home. I read that Americans are now seeking jobs in India. Problem is that it is harder for Americans to get a job in India than it is for an Insian to get a jon in America.

With one other comment ... it is not just IT anymore. With the banking fiasco there are many Accounting and Finance people out of work. Also our US passports are being made in Thailand! I heard rumor that our income taxes are shipped to India!

The Welfare Help/Info number for a certain corrupt East Coast state is in INDIA. Now, wouldn't it have made more sense to hire a couple of people ON WELFARE - give them JOBS - in that state to answer the telephone, rather than have to talk to someone whose English is a Second Language ? Who will be left to buy the foreign market goods in Walmart, if we're all out of work ?

I recall in history that after the Great Depression that the Federal government invested in the infrastructure by hiring the unemployed to help build roads, highways, bridges, etc.
Since that time we have neglected the infrastructure. Our bridges are falling apart, roads are crumbling, and our water system is cracking.
By hiring the unemployed we can take them off of public assistance or at least lessen it. It also teaches people a trade. But instead our government has "other" priorities ...
Our government lifts trade barriers that were there to protect US workers - all for cheap labor and prices. Of course we live a bargin but we didn't realize it will be at a cost later...
