I hate my life
 Written by dstrike0083@gmail.com on 12/10/2012I'm just your average paralegal. I go in and do my work and get my paycheck. I recently graduated from college and started working at a small law firm in Kansas City. Worst boss ever, even his name is "dickman."Why is it bad? because he does NOTHING! He comes in at 9:00 am, hangs out for half and hour, complains about nothing, harasses me, and then leaves. 12:00pm he comes back in, goes on the phone, complains that I wouldn't do some stupid stuff for him, and then go back out. 3:00 pm, he comes in and complain about his life and all this other crap about "i'm trying to help you." let me explain my work week. Monday: we have 40 cases to work on. He does nothing and I'm basically an attorney. I write all the documents and work on all the cases. He does NOTHING. He had a vacation on tuesday and wanted me to write a motion for continuance. I looked into his calender and it stated "Tuesday-trial." So I write a motion for continuance based on the trial schedule. I sent it to his email, he was like "fine, file it." i do so. Next week he comes in and say "why did you file the document. I didn't have trial but mediation." Although his calender said trial. I tried to object and he's like "how did you even graduate from college." I graduated because I worked hard and passed, not like you you. Tuesday, I'm working on discovery. He wants me to stop everything and put together 30 folders. Discovery is due on wenesday. i don't have time for this. He's like "I don't care if you stay here till 3:00 am, get it done." Says the boss who made the disorganized and then force his paralegal to put it together. What kind of idiot would do such a thing? Wednesday, i had to deal with his traffic folder. Basically no guidelines on what to do. Just shoved it in my face and walked off. I did my best at organizing it. I wrote letters and told him about some of the cases. He told me that he would call the clients. (note, we ourselves cannot call clients. Only he can). Later on in the week, he's like "where's the letter to the clients?" I stated "you told me not to write them and you would call them." He sighed and shook his head like he was some king. He went on a rant about how I'm incompetent, how this is boot camp, how he can't understand me, and how i filed a document misleading the court (note that he said, "yes file it"). So I got yelled at and told i was on probation and he would put me on administrative stuff and avoid working on the cases. Thursday, he comes in complaining on me for filing the documents, traffic that he messed up, how I shouldn't have graduated from college, how he can't hear me, and every single thing alive. I had to basically sit in his office with my head down and listen to his hour rant. He then receives a call but couldn't understand how to use caller ID. He asked me for the number which i relayed. I screwed up on one number, well guess I shouldn't have graduated from college. Called incompetent again, and was sent a bunch of emails reminding me of this. After all that, he tells me to work till 3 am again to fix his cases. I asked for a key because I'm staying late. Guess what? I got yelled because he doesn't have a key and i wouldn't make him a key. Friday, he makes me stop working on everything. Note we have a trial next week. He wants me to work on his computers. His computers even though I know no IT. Since i can't do it, I got yelled at for being incompetent, how did I even graduate from college, why I can't speak his "english," and why I'm not a hard worker.
