Ooops, lost my keys (Ssssh! I'm really just hungover)

I had been out drinking the night before a little too heavily and wasn't sure if I felt up to going in to work so I called in and said I was really sorry but I couldn't find my car keys. I said that if I located them I would come in to work. I never came in and the next day I just told them I ended up having a locksmith come out and make me a new set. I told them it took all day to get a locksmith to come out. Actually, I was sleeping off my hangover and watching reruns of I Love Lucy. Bad? Or just human!

I agree. It's not their business to know why you won't be in. Just say you're not feeling well. Then you don't have to remember who you told what to.

Bad...Bad Idea! You should have just said you had a really bad soar throat? Think about it, you probably sounded like crap anyway. What happens if you really do have a key issue in the near future? Soar throats come and go commonly all year round, someone who loses keys two times in a row?? Hmmm. Just a thought from a management perpective.
