Worldpeace web design advertised in the Houston Press for web designers and internet marketers.
I responded to the ad by faxing my resume. Suddenly heavily recruited by Worldpeace web design sales director Steve Nelson, I was interviewed multiple times including a two-hour inteview with Worldpeace web design owner John Worldpeace. During this interview, I became a little suspicious about Worldpeace Web Design after the owner, John Worldpeace, explained his son was the only web "designer" on staff. His son lives in Thailand (or some other impoverished country) and Worldpeace Web Design relies on cheap outsourced labor from the country where his son lives.
The only "employees" Worldpeace Web Design is looking to hire are telemarketers. The primary job of "employees" is calling local and non-local companies to sell Worldpeace web "design" services from the garage of the owner, John Worldpeace.
Here is what any potential employee needs to beware of - Worldpeace Web Design pays the staff in cash each day to avoid any IRS tax issues. This is also an issue when "employees" arrive at work each day to find out if there is enough petty cash to pay for the hours worked. If there is not enough cash, "employees" have a decision to either go home or risk working a day without any pay.
Well, as you have probably guessed, four months after leaving the company I have yet to be paid.
The reason Kay Worldpeace gave was "the check is in the mail" (laugh). After repeatedly calling, I informed Kay Worldpeace that I have not received any check, she says that she will not issue a "second check" because I could be holding the "first check" so that I could cash two checks!...WTF? Then I suggested canceling the "first check"? Kay Worldpeace then says it cost too much to cancel a check with her bank and she will not mail another check....and she hung up the phone?
I have always heard of people being screwed by scam employers but I never thought it would happen to me.

I also worked for JohnWorldPeace.I can tell you John,Kay and Lyann all talk a good game.So my only reason is that they are use to coning people.This man has run for office in Houston.How can this thief want to president of the United State when he can not run his buisness.His son is a police officer so thats why he know about the law.I know for a fact that they were trading companys web site for services for John's son wedding.So maybe that why they didn't pay the hard working employees.I think this is the next Enron in the making.I think he should be made to sell off his painting thats even if he painted them he could be stealing some work I would not put it pass him or his wife.I know he let go of several people before Christmas.I went and got a loans so my daughter could have a Christmas and this people want to talk about Peace it people like this taht leave a bad taste in your mouth

His name is Kenneth Edward Wolter, he changed it in the 80's....I too fell vitim to the WORLDPEACE machine...and here we are about a month or so down the road and Ive still NOT seen the money he owes me. However, I have figured out his scheme, he tells his employees they are conciderd "Independant Contractors" because according to the texas labor laws an employer is not entiled to pay a "Independant Contractor" owed wages. Im filing my claim today.

The reason he gets away with things like this is because his son is a swat cop for Houston. He get the heads up.I tried to write Mavin Zindl&Channel 26 and no one wants to help.I filed a case against the company which you only have 3 months to report him so please report him. It has been 8 months and I still don't have my money.Some one need to picket out side his home/buisness.If you read on of the web site it says his company gross300.000 a year.So tell me why he can't pay me my money he and Kay both owe me $845.00.He gives worldpeace a bad name and so does his innocent wife Kay.[not so innocent]She helps him with this schame

I don't know if i mentioned this but,he is wanted by the police. I don't know if he did his 3 months in jail but, that how lie to us. That is why they out up tht fence around the property.When I was working there a police officer showed up and we had to be quiet til they left.We were told that some clients had lied on him and that they were trying to fix it.Little did I know it was for acting like a lawyer without a licence.Infact Leanne his ex (web Master) told me thet put a stair case so he can come and go with out the police know.I have plenty more let me know if anybody needs more info

It's called desperation, it happens. You tell yourself things will get better and believe false promises. There are a lot of rip-off jobs listed in our local classifieds. An experienced friend can help you spot them. BBB and employment offices are not always informed or interested.
